Best Dutch Food Products

Intro

The Netherlands is one of the largest exporters of food products in the world. With that in mind, there are a lot of food options in the country, from fruits and vegetables, meat, to dairy, snacks. etc… In this blog, I will name the best Dutch food products that I enjoy eating here. What I mean by Dutch food products is, brands or products that are manufactured or grown here. I will definitely not be able to cover it all, so I will name my top 7.

De Pindakaaswinkel

De Pindakaaswinkel is my favorite peanut butter brand of all time. It is organic, vegetarian, some options are vegan, and very tasty. They have 12 flavors, some are crazy like the chili pepper lemongrass and the garlic fried onion. My favorite is the caramel sea salt. If you would like to get some extra protein, you should definitely get the sport flavor. They have several shops around the country. You can buy a package of 10 different flavors, in a tiny or large size jar. That is the best gift you can give to peanut butter fans. The pindakaaswinkel shops are very cozy and attract you to go in and empty the shelfs. Besides peanut butter, they have awesome merchandise. There are cards, books, bags, outfits and more.

De Ruijter hagelslag Specials Extra Puur

Hagelslag is chocolate sprinkles. It is a very big thing in the Dutch culture. An easy Dutch breakfast is hagelsag on toast. I have tried several brands and flavors, but my favorite is De Ruijter hagelslag puur. The flavor is dark chocolate and the sprinkles are large. My favorite snack is Peanut Butter on a toast and De Ruijter hagelslag puur on top. You can find it in several, if not all, supermarkets.

Old Amsterdam Original Borrelblokjes

Old Amsterdam is the biggest cheese brand in the Netherlands. All their types of cheeses and products are high quality and very tasty. There are different products, like slices, cubes, spreads, etc… Also, the flavor will depend on the fat percentage, which is the number you find on the package. But my favorite is the Original Borrelblokjes. Borrelblokjes means cubes. The taste is great and full of flavor. I totally recommend trying this out and the rest of their products.

Mora Oven & Airfryer Chili Cheese Bites

This is a very nice snack to have with cold drinks, especially while watching a series. It’s a crispy crust filled with different types of cheeses and a bit spicy due to Japeleño peppers. Surely, It is not the best healthy meal but you can prepare it in the oven or the air fryer. I usually prepare it in the oven. You can find it in several shops, but usually it sells out very quickly.

Dirk van den broek 's Ronde Kaas Suisse

I am a big fan of bakeries and I have tired several items that are to die for from different spots. I will definitely write a whole blog about this. The Ronde Kaas Suisse is by far one of the best bakery items I’ve ever had, especially when its warm. It is defiantly the number one on my best Dutch food products list. Usually, not a lot of bakeries fill it properly with cheese, but this one has a very decent amount. Overload of cheese. Price wise, it costs 0.85 euros, which is nothing to what you actually get.

Katja Yoghurt Gums

Those gums are very addictive. Once you had one, you can never stop until the bag is empty. It is a yoghurt based candy with different fruit flavors. Those gummies are vegan, gluten and animal gelatine free. My favorite one is the Lemon. This is the best candy I’ve ever had. Those are your best friend whenever you are going for a road trip or watching a movie.

Soma Koolhydraat verlaagd en eiwitrijk

There are a lot of different types of breads in the Netherlands. Bread plays a big role in so many countries, as well as the Netherlands. My list of Favorite Dutch food product will not go without mentioning this type of bread. Soma Koolhydraat verlaagd en eiwitrijk is a low carb and high protein bread. I tried many different brands and even baked my own but this is definitely the best. Great taste, full of nutrition and extremely delicious.
